Taking 140 years to build and standing at 114m tall, each wall of Florence Cathedral has been intricately designed and detailed both inside and out. You can even climb 463 steps of this Duomo (cathedral) to set foot into the interior of the main dome which offers unbelievable panoramic views of the city.

Dine Al Fresco

The perfect destination for foodies, Florence has a range of local specialities worth trying; from Panzanella to Antipasti. With plenty of Al Fresco eateries to choose from in the city – with both indoor and outdoor seating areas – visitors will have the choice of immersing themselves within the heart of these eateries or sitting outside and admiring the beautiful city surroundings.

On the topic of delicious food, it’s probably a good time to recommend our favourite ice cream parlour in Florence that we know the kids will love! Located just off of Santa Croce, Vivoli offers a wide range of flavours which you can enjoy inside the inviting air conditioned shop or out in the sun. If you like rice pudding, the parlour is also known for being one of the few ice cream shops to sell rice pudding flavoured ice cream.

If you like exploring new places by foot, Boboli Gardens should definitely be included within your trip itinerary. This lavish garden is full of classical sculptures, well-kept flora and local fauna, making it a very peaceful, intimate and romantic environment for couples.

The main landmark visitors want to visit, The Original David, carved out of a block of marble. The artwork, standing at 17 ft tall, has been replicated by many across the world, but still cannot compete with this original piece. 500 years old, waiting in line to see this masterpiece will be worthwhile.
