Fuerteventura is a great family fun destination with plenty of attractions, both natural and manmade, for the perfect sunny beach holiday. Whether your children are toddlers, teenagers or both, there is something to do for everyone in one of our favourite Canary Islands.

Beach activities for all ages!

The Canary Islands are world-renowned for their beautiful beaches and year-round sunshine. Ideal for families with kiddies of all ages because of the calm, shallow waters, it’s not hard to see why the pristine shores of Fuerteventura are one of the island’s main draws for fun family holidays. Playa del Castillo and Playa del Matorral are particularly good beaches for the littluns to paddle in, while Cotillo Beach & Lagoons make for a great choice for those a little older where they can swim and snorkel in the clear lagoons. For older kids and teens there are also plenty of amazing beach activities such as paddle boarding, wind surfing or pedalos to choose from on almost every beach on the island.

Set to the sea to see the wildlife

Fuerteventura offers a wide variety of boat trips for families to explore the seas. Our favourite boat trips on the island have to be the ones which enable some of the most jaw-dropping sights of beautiful animals in their natural habitats. Both whale watching and dolphin spotting trips are available daily. The location and the oceanographic characteristics of the island of Fuerteventura make this a unique place in the world for watching both bottlenose dolphins and pilot whales on a single trip. The excursions are usually around four hours long and take place all year round (dependent on weather).  And if you cannot get enough of spotting majestic sea creatures, head to Los Lobos Island for the day where you will discover plenty of friendly seals alongside you on the beach. What more could you ask for, for an unforgettable family holiday?

Acua Water Park… which is much more than just water and slides

For a guaranteed day of fun-filled excitement for the kids, head to Acua Water Park in Corralejo. Not only is there a huge range of thrilling water slides for all ages and a giant wave pool, but you will also find ten-pin bowling, crazy golf, driving ranges and even a haunted house. But that’s not all! You will also discover a go-kart circuit, tennis academy as well as several shops and restaurants. It goes without saying that there will be an activity for each and every one of the children all conveniently located in one place.  The only problem you may encounter is trying to get the kids to leave at the end of an amazing day at Acua Water Park.

So whether you are after good old fashion beach fun with pristine white sand and beautifully blue sea, incredibly special experiences for an unforgettable family holiday or a day out that is guaranteed to have something for everyone, Fuerteventura is sure to please the entire family.
