There are different types of places for different travellers and we are here to help you pick the one that suits you best. Find out where you could go on holiday!
May is a perfect month to go to Cancun or even the lovely town of Playa del Carmen. The crowds are little and the rates are low in spite of the excellent weather. After Easter, all hotels and resorts lower their prices, even the 5* ones… During this time of the year, you may encounter some sporadic moments of rain but it’s not that doom and gloom – you can take advantage of the rain showers to cool yourself down for 30 minutes and then dry off lying on a sun lounger on the beach!
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
If you’re looking for a Caribbean alternative to Cancun, jet off to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic for a holiday in May and enjoy an average temperature of 31°C. This city is known for its luxury all-inclusive hotels/resorts, all lined along the stunning white beaches. Knowing the tips for choosing an all-inclusive holiday can be difficult, but we are here to help. May is yet again one of the cheapest times to travel here. Punta Cana has a fairly new airport and new roads, so it’s all very modern and civilized unlike other places in the Caribbean which remain untouched.
Montego Bay, Jamaica
Montego Bay is a great destination to visit in June. It is a warm, dry and upbeat spot to enjoy a spring/early summer getaway. This resort is the place to be for an all-inclusive holiday full of sun, beach and free food and drink! Go explore this beautiful city and discover the Doctor’s Cave Beach Club, where you can go snorkelling or go on a haunted house tour through the Rose Hall.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
This is a historic town with lovely central districts and all types of resorts and hotels along the beach. Find yourself scuba diving in the Islas Marietas National Park or go shopping in the Bucerias, Nayarit markets and shops. Enjoy the sunny weather and low rate resorts on a holiday in May.
Though you might find the odd spot of rain in Cartagena in June, it is a tropical type of rain that comes and goes quickly. Most hotels in this stunning beach town are still in their off-season prices as well. If you like culture, history and gorgeous Colonial architecture you will want to stay in the walled city area; however, if you want to spend your time relaxing on the beach, book your stay in the Bocagrande area just to the west of the walled city.
