No matter how long your flight may be to your destination, we all dread that long boring flight. Keeping kids entertained on a flight is difficult but trying to keep yourself entertained can be even harder when there are very limited things to do on a flight, especially when all you want to do is get off and explore. We know this too well and we’ve tried so many methods to keep yourself entertained on a plane, and we are now passing these onto you. Say goodbye to boring flights, and hello to entertaining flights.
Adult Colouring Books
Okay, it might sound a little strange, but these are definitely the trend at the moment and I love it. You can get adult colouring books which are very intricate designs to colour in; it is definitely a fun way to entertain yourself on the flight. Stick some music on, get the colouring pencils and let the inner child go wild.
Bring a tablet
The inflight movies and entertainment might not be your cup of tea, but that’s okay. I recommend bringing a tablet on board with you and you can pre-download your favourite film or TV series. I prefer downloading my favourite TV series, and you can never go wrong with The Simpsons.
Flights with WiFi are the perfect opportunity for you to set up your laptop and get on with some work, especially if you’re going on a business trip. Or if not, you can always load up Netflix and stream some movies or TV series.
Whether you’re travelling on your own or with friends and family some great flight entertainment is a good old card game. Of course, the opportunities are endless with a normal pack of playing cards so that’ll definitely keep you entertained for an hour or so.
The majority of aircraft will have an inflight entertainment system packed with films, music and TV shows. It is often that you will find inflight movies that have just come out of the cinema, which is always good if you don’t fancy buying the DVD.
You should definitely try sleeping on a flight, especially if it’s a long-haul overnight flight. It’s not so much inflight entertainment but you’ll definitely pass the time if you were sleep. Bring some noise cancelling headphones and a comfy pillow and try and get comfy as possible. I always find listening to relaxing music helps too, it helps block out the sounds of the engine.
My favourite pastime. It’s still a way to pass the time, even if it is a 20-minute meals. On long-haul flights may meals are provided (some for a cost), but that doesn’t stop you from buying some food at duty free. Go wild; it’s all in the good for entertainment!
If reading bores you, podcasts are the way forward. You can just shut your eyes and listen to the author reading their story to you; it can be quite weird at first having someone talk to you but with no music. Just have an eye out for the air hostess bringing around food, you won’t want to miss that!
You will no longer be bored on that pesky long flight, with so much opportunity for inflight entertainment (which do absolutely work). There will be no need to twiddle your thumbs again, just be prepared and get ready for your flight!
