Holidaymakers looking at booking cheap flights to Totonto may be interested to hear that Air Canada and SriLankan Airlines have announced a code share agreement which will allow easy connections between the carriers' respective nations.

According to Yves Dufresne, vice-president of alliances, international operations and regulatory affairs at Air Canada, the travel market between Canada and Sri Lanka has been growing at a double-digit rate in recent years.

Under the new agreement, he continued, customers will easily be able to connect at the North American airline's main European gateways of Frankfurt, London and Paris.

"The code share agreement gives us the ability to offer customers connections between Air Canada and SriLankan on a single ticket itinerary, checked-through baggage and other benefits that will create a seamless travel experience," he added.

Air Canada is the largest domestic and international full-service airline in Canada, providing flights for passengers and cargo to more than 175 destinations on five continents.

SriLankan Airlines is the national airline of Sri Lanka, providing flights from its hub in Colombo's Bandaranaike International Airport to 52 destinations in 33 countries.
