A record number of international travellers passed through Sydney Airport in January.

Passengers who have booked cheap flights to Sydney to enjoy a winter getaway may find they are met with high numbers of fellow travellers at the destination's airport.
This is because the establishment recently reported it welcomed 1.17 million international customers during January alone, a record for the Australian city's travel facility.
Although domestic passengers were down 0.6 per cent from the same period of 2011, the popular tourist destination recorded a 2.3 per cent rise in global numbers last month compared with the year before.
Total passenger traffic for January reached 3.14 million individuals, marking a 0.5 per cent rise from 2011 - signalling what looks to be a positive start for the establishment.
Kerrie Mather, chief executive of Sydney Airport, said: "Capacity increases remain the key growth driver for the airport, with significant growth derived from service enhancements such as Emirates' third daily service to Dubai."
This comes after an investigation into the facility's operations raised questions about an imposed night curfew on flights and called for the launch of second establishment to resolve capacity issues.
