Passengers who are planning a trip to America in the coming months may be interested to hear recent news about Emirates, which has recently announced the launch of its first airport lounge on the west coast of the country.
The facility, introduced at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), comes as part of a US$4 million (£2.5 million) investment into the Bay Area and has been designed with a similar attention to detail as the airline's other lounges around the world.
Featuring the largest dining area of all the company's areas, the new creation is the only one of its kind with a dedicated prayer room, which is available for use by passengers from different cultures.
Furthermore, Italian marble floors and gold Rolex clocks are included in the lavish two-level surroundings, also featuring purpose-built lifts, an internal staircase and direct access to the boarding bridge - making it easily accessible by all travellers.
Mohammed Mattar, divisional senior vice-president of airport services, said: "We are proud to bring our award winning lounge product and our trademark hospitality and service to San Francisco with the opening of the Emirates Lounge at SFO."
Facilities also include two LED televisions, 56 leather armchairs, a business centre and showers for those looking to freshen up between flights. Additionally, a variety of hot and cold dishes are available along with formal and informal seating arrangements in the dining area.
"With complimentary chauffeur drive service to and from the airport for first and business class travellers, customers in the Bay Area, Silicon Valley and San Francisco can now look forward to a seamless and stress-free experience," Mr Mattae added.
Emirates recently announced its intensions to increase its Airbus A340-500 services to Tunis from next month following high passenger demand for more flights and will now provide 12 first class private suites, 42 business class and 204 economy class seats.
